The European Data Strategy which was launched in Brussels on 19 February, aims to make the EU a leader in a data-driven society.
Europe’s data volume in 2018 was 33 zettabytes, and this is expected to rise in 2025 to 175 zettabytes.
Creating a single market for data will allow it to flow freely within the EU and across sectors for the benefit of businesses, researchers and public administrations.
